Local artist teaches importance of truth telling through art

At the University of South Australia’s Study Centre in Port Lincoln yesterday, Indigenous artist Shania Richards led efforts to create a community mural for Reconciliation Week.

Participants at the event learnt about First Nations art and culture through the use of expressive art.

Miss Richards says she’s proud of all the creators that got involved, and thanked them for letting her share a sacred practice and for accepting the challenge of owning their own narrative.
