New seafood labelling rules will come into effect from July 1, requiring hospitality venues to clearly indicate where their seafood comes from.
Under the changes, restaurants and food businesses must tell customers whether their seafood is Australian, imported, or a mix of both.
The update is expected to have a strong impact in regions like Port Lincoln and across the Eyre Peninsula, where the local seafood industry is a major drawcard.

Suppliers will also be required to provide origin details, helping venues meet the new requirements and ensure accurate labelling for customers.
