A marine ‘sweep’ is on the calendar for the Whyalla Port this week.
The process removes the build up of sea-bed sand, which can affect the loading of ships at the outer harbour berthing facility and also and create negative environmental effects.
The build-up will be relocated to deeper water within the Port’s exclusion zone.

The job started yesterday and will be carried out as part of routine maintenance for the GFG Alliance.
The work is due to be completed by Friday, weather permitting.
