Eyre Peninsula’s upcoming hydrogen industry will benefit from $2 billion worth of Federal Government investment, outlined in last night’s budget.
The Commonwealth announced a Hydrogen Headstart program, focusing on investing in producing and exporting hydrogen energy, with Treasurer Jim Chalmers highlighting the opportunities of Whyalla green steel production in his budget speech.
In a statement, Premier Peter Malinauskas said it’s great to see the Federal Government demonstrate its confidence in green hydrogen by investing 2 billion in the technology.
Other budget measures outlined last night include $60 million over 3 years to continue supplementary local road funding in SA and up to $500 in energy bill relief will be paid out to veterans, concession card holders, and people on government support payments.
