Families across the Northern Eyre Peninsula will gain expanded local access to vital childhood vaccinations throughout November, thanks to a new partnership aimed at boosting regional immunisation rates.
The Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (EFNLHN) has teamed up with the Country SA Primary Health Network (PHN) to launch dedicated childhood immunisation clinics at Mid Eyre Medical Practices in Kimba, Cowell, and Cleve.
Funded through the SA Country PHN Immunisation Small Grants Program, the initiative supports the Commonwealth Government’s target to achieve a 95 per cent vaccination rate for one, two, and five-year-olds.
Children under the age of five will be able to receive free vaccinations delivered in accordance with the National Immunisation Program, while parents and caregivers can consult with practice nurses to seek advice and check if their children are up to date.
EFNLHN Chief Executive Officer Julie Marron highlighted the importance of bringing these services closer to home.
“Vaccinations are the best way to give children the healthiest start possible to their lives, and these clinics provide a great opportunity for parents to make sure their children are protected against disease,” Ms Marron said.
“We have work to do to make sure our region is meeting the national target, and clinics like this are a good way for families to access these vital immunisations.”
She added that local nurses would be on hand at each practice to support families through their childhood immunisation journey and answer any questions.
Families can contact the individual practices to book appointments on the following dates:
- Kimba Mid Eyre Medical Practice: Tuesday, 10 November 2026 & Tuesday, 17 November 2026
- Cowell Mid Eyre Medical Practice: Friday, 13 November 2026
