The Flinders Highway bridge over Little Swamp Creek is set to be replaced, with $587,000 in funding secured through the Federal Government’s Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program.

The existing bridge, which was built in the 1930s, has deteriorated over time and is currently restricted to vehicles weighing no more than 10 tonnes. The replacement structure will feature a wider nine-metre carriageway and improved safety features.

During construction, a section of the Flinders Highway between Wine Shanty Road and Western Approach Road will be closed, with detours in place for motorists.
