Canadian-based hydrogen developer, Amp Energy, will lead the construction of a new multi-billion dollar hydrogen precinct at Cape Hardy.
Iron Road’s industrial hub will feature a five gigawatt scale green hydrogen production facility, to be situated near its multi-purpose, deep-water export port.
The planned export facility at Cape Hardy is expected to create up to nearly 5,000 jobs during its development and more than 1,000 positions when fully operational.
In a statement, Premier Peter Malinauskas says the hydrogen opportunity will be transformative for the SA economy, delivering energy security, whilst helping the state decarbonise.
