New Trailer Breakdown and WARNING Potential Spoilers!
The Superman “Tickets On Sale” trailer is packed with crucial Easter eggs tying directly into DC Comics lore and hinting at major story elements:
Superman is shown trapped in space (Phantom Zone?) alongside Metamorpho, Krypto, and Baby Joey, (Joey being the son of Metamorpho and Sapphire Stagg in the comics), suggesting Metamorpho’s deeper involvement in Lex Luthor’s plans.
Jimmy Olsen uses a “LordTech” laptop, referencing Maxwell Lord, who in this universe leads the Justice Gang with Hawkgirl and Green Lantern, mirroring the Justice League International comics.
A mysterious white-skinned alien, dubbed “Mr. Handsome,” appears and is revealed as a LexCorp creation, possibly nodding to White Martians or engineered villains from the comics.
Lex Luthor commands armored “Raptors” and uses green kryptonite, paralleling classic comic arcs where Luthor weaponises Kryptonite and imprisons metahumans.
The trailer also features Ultraman in armor, later unmasked as an ape-like being, evoking Ultra-Humanite’s body-swapping villainy from Golden Age comics.
These Easter eggs highlight a film deeply rooted in comic history, blending Silver Age, modern, and Elseworlds influences while setting up new dynamics unique to James Gunn’s DCU.
