The Perseids shower has arrived, and it's one of the most reliable showers of the year, unfortunately for us, we have a Waxing Gibbous moon (it's heading to a full moon on Aug 15) so we have to wait until the Moon set to get an unadulterated view of the shower (And hope that it's not cloudy).
The Peak is overnight tonight, and good news, the moon sets around 6am tomorrow morning, ahead of sunrise Just after 7am, so our window is pretty skinny, but if the weather plays nice, we should get a pretty solid view.
As with all Meteor showers the less light the better, so get out of town and look up, whilst the source (The Perseus Constellation) is below the horizon, the meteor shower should still be visible with the shower commonly going in all directions across our pre-dawn sky.
Where will you set up to watch? Thinking Sleaford/Wanna would be a quiet spot to catch it if you're up!
