Three girls have been arrested following a theft incident that occurred in Whyalla on Monday.
About 5.20pm three girls attended a home in Nicolson Avenue and asked the occupant if they could use the bathroom. While inside the home and without the occupant's knowledge, the youths stole her handbag containing her purse and car keys.
Later that evening the girls returned and stole the woman’s car.
Police further investigated the incident and located and arrested the three suspects on Tuesday afternoon.
The stolen car was found abandoned in a laneway off of Gallagher Street shortly after.
A 15-year-old girl from Whyalla Norrie was charged with two counts of theft, aggravated serious criminal trespass, breach of bail and illegal use of a motor vehicle. She was refused police bail and appeared in the Whyalla Youth Court yesterday where she was remanded in custody.
The Two other girls aged 14 and 11 from Whyalla Stuart, were charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft. They were bailed to appear in the Whyalla Youth Court in August.
