A man has lost his licence and will appear in court after being caught speeding and drink driving in Whyalla yesterday afternoon.

About 1.30pm on Tuesday, June 30th, Whyalla patrols were conducting speed detection duties on McRitchie Crescent at Whyalla Stuart. At this time they detected a white Ford sedan travelling at 74km/h in a signed 50km/h zone.
The driver submitted to a breath test where he returned a positive result of 0.132. A 38-year-old man from Whyalla Stuart was reported for drink driving, he will be summonsed to appear at the Whyalla Magistrate Court at a later date.
He was issued with an immediate six-month immediate loss of licence and the Ford was impounded for 28 days. He also received an expiation notice totalling $870, for exceeding the speed limit.
