A new survey involving healthcare professionals from regional and rural areas has found growing confidence the system can cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.
More than 9 in 10 healthcare workers (92%) have expressed confidence in the system's ability to respond, up from just 1 in 2 workers (52%) just over a month ago.
However, the survey also uncovered a 'two-speed' healthcare system and reservations around easing some social distancing measures.
Mandy Admiraal from TKW Research says there's renewed optimism but frontline workers believe we need to stay vigilant.
