Federal Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey is encouraging locals to have their say on the design of the next round of the Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program (MBSP) to ensure it continues to improve coverage for regional communities.
The program has already funded 49 mobile base stations in Grey for regional communities.
Mr. Ramsey says “The release of the discussion paper is a great opportunity for regional Australians to have their say on how the program can best deliver the mobile coverage they need into the future.
Up to $46 million dollars is on the table for round 5 with a further $80 million committed for round 6 of the MBSP
The discussion paper proposes a series of changes to the eligibility guidelines for the program so that it continues to deliver high-value outcomes to regional and remote Australia.
Locals can have their say until 19th June 2020.
