Local Nurses Commended for Campaign on Nurse and Midwifery Safety

nurses take action

Last week the public face of more than 21,000 nurses and midwives visited Port Lincoln to commend the campaigning efforts of local nursing and midwifery staff, following an attack on a nurse at the Lincoln hospital earlier this year.

Associate Professor Elizabeth Dabars AM says nurses and midwives across the state should be proud of the industrial stand they have taken to shine a spotlight on patient and staff safety in recent weeks.

Ms Dabars says “Although we are still some distance away from receiving reconsidered Enterprise Bargaining proposals, the discussions appear to be moving in the right direction on some of the more significant matters that are in dispute”.

She says regional visits are essential in ensuring the wants and needs of its members continue to drive the industrial and professional directions of the ANMF (SA Branch).
