Today has been declared a total fire ban day across the region with the Eastern Eyre Peninsula and West Coast a severe fire danger rating and the Lower Eyre Peninsula extreme.
Today will see hot and dry weather conditions with winds reaching up to 60km and temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees in some areas.
A slight chance of dry lightning is expected across southern parts of the State during the day.
Landowners are asked to adhere to local harvest codes of practice which are available from your local council.
While local residents are advised to have their bush fire survival plan in place in preparation for these predicted fire weather conditions.
