Following recent events in Tumby Bay where dog owners have failed to control their dogs in public and not restrained, rules and regulations have now been changed along the front beach.
Tumby Bays new rules outline that all dogs are required to be kept on a 2m lead between 7 am and 7 pm and during daylight savings until 9 pm.
An amnesty will be in place until the 1st January 2020, with warnings being issued to people disobeying the rules.
Dogs who are off the lead must demonstrate strict voice control, and for those who fail to do so could see fines of up to $210.
The District Council of Tumby Bay are reminding owners to be responsible for picking up after their dog and failing to do so can also result in an expiation notice.
