Ceduna Organisations Awarded SA Healthy Towns Grant

Ceduna Ab Corp Youth HubT

he Ceduna Aboriginal Corporation and Youth Hub has been one of five community projects to be awarded grants of up to $50,000 as a part of the SA Healthy Towns Challenge.

The projects aim to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in rural and regional areas across South Australia and the Ceduna project aims to do exactly that.

The Ceduna project is a Palya Bike Holiday program that encourages and supports bike riding for young people to keep them active and train people to maintain the bikes.

The winning projects were chosen by a panel of experts and chaired by Chief Public Health Officer, Professor Paddy Phillips.

Phillips says South Australians can enjoy improved overall health and reduce the risk of developing serious diseases such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes by increasing levels of physical activity and healthy eating.
