Eyre Peninsula residents are being urged to dig deep this weekend, 25th -26th May, as The Salvation Army conducts its annual Red Shield Appeal.
It comes as new figures reveal growing demand for the organisation's financial counselling services, with a significant proportion being women and those over the age of 65.
Lauren Martin from the Salvos is urging us to contribute to the appeal and give hope to those who are doing it tough
“We’ve been calling on the government for quite some time now to kick start new start, we know that it’s going to take a significant increase in money for people that are living on government benefits in order for them to live with dignity. And we’re Australia right? We’re the lucky country, we’d love people to be able to live in Australia and not have to struggle to make ends meet every single week.” Said Ms. Martin
