There are calls to ensure Eyre Peninsula residents are better-informed about the origin of their seafood.
It comes after a new study reveals nearly half of all Australians (41%) don’t know whether their seafood is local or imported.
Jo-Anne Ruscoe from the Australian Barramundi Farmers Association says they're particularly concerned about consumers who are being misinformed or misled.
"We're calling for transparency in hospitality industries, we want the regulation that covers the retail sector to be extended into menus so that when you order fish or any seafood in a fish n chip shop or restaurant you know where your seafood is from." said Jo-anne.
