The Port Lincoln City Council would like to inform locals of the upcoming construction on the Eyre Street Stormwater Pump Station Project.
Construction will begin on Monday 29th April with several traffic restrictions in place that may cause disruption to those in the area over the duration of the project.
Traffic control requirements will be put in place which will limit access in the vicinity of and through Eyre Street between Tasman Terrace and Liverpool Street.
As the project progresses, traffic restrictions will be progressively changing to suit the work phases of the project.
Throughout the life of the project there will be multiple varying traffic arrangements which will include:
Closure of Eyre Street between Liverpool Street and Washington Street
Partial closure of Eyre Street between Washington Street and Tasman Terrace
Occupation of the existing car park on Tasman Terrace (“ Whirley’s Carpark “ )
Temporary closures of both Washington Street and Tasman Terrace (with suitable detours in place) for services to cross both roads
Temporary staged works across Liverpool Street, maintaining through traffic at all times
Temporary occupation of the lawn area at the corner of Tasman Terrace and Eyre Street
Mayor Brad Flaherty said, “While the works will be quite disruptive with various traffic controls in place and will be noisy during the sheet piling activity, these works are necessary to improve the management of stormwater in and around the Eyre Street and Liverpool Street area.”
