Tumby Bay has committed to a major upgrade of its stormwater system with the Council winning a grant from the Federal Government to deliver the project.
The Tumby Bay Council received the grant through round two of the Building Better Regions Fund Infrastructure Projects stream, which will see the government investing well over $200 million in 136 projects.
The project will receive almost $2.5 million towards 1.8 kilometres of stormwater swale.
This will incorporate a levee bank and retention basins to capture redirected local stormwater.
Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey said he was delighted to see this project receive funding given that it will protect existing land and allow for future expansion in residential and commercial development in Tumby Bay.
