The State Government says they’ve received high global interest for SA’s $593 million dollar Hydrogen Jobs Plan, which will lead to benefits for the Eyre Peninsula.
The plan will see the construction of a brand new hydrogen power station, electrolyser and storage facility within the Whyalla City Council area, helping to lower electricity prices and provide additional stability for the grid.
The market sounding process, calling for different industry approaches for the facility has now closed, with the State Government receiving 60 different proposals from local and international organisations, vying to showcase their capabilities and ideas for the plan.
In a statement, Premier Peter Malinauskas said the State Government’s vision for hydrogen has captured the imagination of the world.
He said the high interest in the market sounding process has demonstrated the level of interest in SA’s hydrogen jobs plan and leaves little doubt that the green hydrogen industry in SA is on the up and up.
