Two drivers have been caught by police speeding on the Lincoln Highway over the weekend.
Just after 2pm on Saturday, patrols stopped a 17 year old P-plater, after he was travelling at 146 km/h in a 110 zone at Midgee.
The boy was issued with a six month immediate loss of licence and fined nearly $4,000 for speeding and breaching his licence conditions.
2 hours later, a Birkenhead man was stopped after he was travelling at 134 km/h in a 110 zone at the Middleback Ranges.
The man submitted to a breath test, providing a positive reading of 0.210, more than four times the legal limit.
The 52 year old had an expired provisional licence and he was reported for the offence, along with speeding and drink driving. He will be summoned to appear in court at a later date.
