Local communities are being thanked for their support as global conflicts lead to an increasing number of people seeking refuge in Australia.
Latest figures released for World Refugee Day show more than 100 million people are now displaced around the world.
In March, the District Council of Cleve Mayor, Phil Cameron, called on the Federal Government to settle Ukrainian refugees in the local district via its Humanitarian Settlement Program.
He said the country is home to smart high-tech workers, and they could use those smarts, skills and hard working families in the Cleve district.
