Work Set to Begin on Flinders Highway Upgrades

Work is set to begin on Flinders Highway upgrades, with sections of the roads expected to be closed from May 25th.

The $2 million project, jointly funded by the District Council of Lower Eyre Peninsula and the State Government's Local Government Infrastructure Partnership Program, is set to be completed in 2 sections, beginning with an approximately 12 week closure of the highway between Cockatoo Road and the Pound Lane Chapman Road intersection.

The second section will upgrade the safety of the highway, by increasing sightlines and re-aligning 3 main intersections, with both stages scheduled to be completed within 22 weeks.

In a statement, the council thanks all residents for their patience during the construction works and apologise for any inconvenience caused, with residents requiring any further information regarding the closure or the project in general to call the council.
