A new Port Lincoln women’s safety hub will soon open in the city, providing information and referrals for domestic violence support.
The hub will be the tenth set up in regional SA, providing DV services, as well as information on housing, police and legal matters, family intervention, financial counselling, mental health and drug and alcohol services.
The Haven hub at Whyalla, operated by Centacare Catholic Country SA, will open on October 22nd, after receiving $325,000 from the Federal Government.
To provide more frontline services, a new Domestic and Aboriginal Family Violence Alliance was set up in July by the Government, funding domestic violence services in Port Lincoln through Yarredi Services and Ceduna through Centacare.
