The Lincoln Cinema has been award $35,000 in grant money to keep the beloved movie venue above water.
The funding comes under the federal governments SCREEN fund (supporting Cinemas Retention Endurance and Enhancement of Neighbourhoods) which aims to help and support the recovery of cinemas in what has been a challenging time during COVID.
The $35,000 grant will be used to help pay rent and keep staff employed during the winter months.
COVID has hit cinemas significantly and especially in regional areas with the lack of block buster films being produced for people to watch, reflecting on attendance numbers.
The Lincoln Cinema has been doing reasonably well lately with new movies coming out and rainy days giving people all the better reason to head to the movies.
