During yesterday’s severe weather conditions, CFS crews were called to Cockaleechie, where a small grass fire had flared up from last week’s fire.
The fire had reignited at around 7:30 AM yesterday morning with fire crews able to contain the fire quickly.
Last week’s cockaleechie fire saw more than 3000 hectares burnt, threatening homes and farm land with around 80 CFS crews on the ground tackling the blaze.
Unfortunately, the fire torn through the Cockaleechie homestead, leaving it in shambles.
Other properties saw a very close call however were thankfully saved.
