Local businesses and organisations are being urged to invest in their workers' mental health, following results from Australia's largest workplace mental health study.
It found 3 in 5 Australian workers have experienced a mental health condition over the last year, with many struggling for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, Margo Lydon from SuperFriend says there are plenty of ways organisations in rural and regional areas can support their staff through the uncertainty.
“The great thing is that we have the majority of mental health training and education being delivered online so whether you're rural or regional what you could be doing these not constrained by the location such as connecting regular with team members and checking in on them acknowledging good work and enabling staff from across their business to co-design & Co work together and providing access to mental health education for people leaders and all staff." said Lydon.
