Premier Stephen Marshall this week made a special appearance in Whyalla for the official opening of the city’s Loop Jetty.
The new $7.8 million dollar jetty was opened by Mr. Marshall and Whyalla Mayor Clare McLaughlin, with locals now able to take a stroll around the jetty’s iconic loop.
Construction on the jetty first began in 2019 and has attracted attention for its unique design.
The jetty is 38m longer than the original jetty, as the loop adds a further 150m, bringing the total length to 315m.
Locals are encouraged to practice social distancing when using the jetty, which is set to become a ‘must-see’ for tourists.
