Locals interested in joining the police force can do so this year as South Australian police ramps up their recruitment program.
SAPOL will be commencing their courses for police officers and protective security officers from October this year until January 2021.
The recruitment comes as the pandemic has created additional police duties and impacted their ability to provide normal policing services for the community.
Commissioner Grant Stevens says by recruiting additional staff they are better positioning themselves to meet the increasing requirements on policing as we move forward.
Stevens said the accelerated recruitment of up to 72 police officers, is in response to the additional duties being undertaken due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For locals interested in applying, Recruitment officers will be available to answer questions on the South Australia Police Facebook page on Thursday, September 17 from 7pm-8pm.
Alternatively, there is information on the application and recruitment process for both Police Officers and Protective Security Officer on the SA Police website – www.police.sa.gov.au
