It’s been announced Rex has been granted authorisation to collaborate with other airlines on regional routes include those on the Eyre Peninsula.
The grant will allow Rex to collaborate with Qantas and Virgin Australia on local routes traveling from Adelaide to Port Lincoln and Adelaide to Whyalla.
The two routes are two of ten routes under the agreement made by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
Rex applied for interim authorisation to collaborate with the other major regional carriers in March when the pandemic first severely impacted Australian aviation.
Rex Deputy Chair, the Hon John Sharp AM said Rex has not as of yet managed to establish any collaboration with QantasLink, however, they plan to persevere so those rural and regional communities will continue to benefit from essential air links.
