New research has shed light on some of the negative online experiences shared by at-risk community groups across the Eyre Peninsula.

Indigenous Australians, people identifying as LGBTQI+ and those living with disability are more likely to experience and engage in negative behaviours online.

The national survey also found the most common experiences are unwanted messages (42%), attempted phone scams involving victim's computers (32%) and viruses (17%).

eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, says social media and the internet have proven essential to regional communities however it also comes with an increased risk.
