Regional Development Australia Eyre Peninsula say this year will see strong productivity and resource growth in the region.

The latest ‘Infrastructure Prioritisation Plan’ has been released by Regional Development SA, and CEO of RDA EP Ryan Viney says our region is one of South Australia’s most productive.

“Regional South Australia has a pipeline valued at $65 billion, and the Eyre Peninsula is leading the way with $28 billion of projects that have been rated as a high priority, Mr Viney says.

“It’s really pleasing to have that level of investment planned for the Eyre Peninsula and what that can do for the state more broadly.

“Housing, childcare and investment in regional jetties were all identified across all regional areas as being high priority, but to have five projects recognised as being of state significance in our region is a really positive sign for the future.”

Some high priority projects include the Cape Hardy Industrial Export Precinct, the Southern Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant, and the Northern Water Project.

“The Northern Water Project… has the ability to have a significant impact on the state’s economy, the ability to open up mining operations, and provide water to industry – and we know that industry relies on water and it’s an economic enabler to bring those types of industries to our region.”
