Streaky Bay Park to be Renamed

Streaky Bay’s Lions Park will revert back to its original name of The Pioneers Park as part of its redevelopment.

During the public consultation regarding design concepts for the park redevelopment, it was suggested the park should be renamed to a name which provides more local identity, as many parks across the country share the Lions Park name.

The park was originally named Pioneers Park, in honour of the people who introduced agricultural production to the region in the mid 1800’s, with the park renamed in the 1960’s after the club undertook improvements.
