A nailbiting grand final rematch has resulted in a draw for Lincoln South and Marble Range in the A-grade opening game of the Port Lincoln Football League season.
A communication error saw both teams finishing 59-all at Centenary Oval for the ANZAC Round.
PLFL Operations Manager Quinn Dutchke said the error isn’t unique in sport, but acknowledged it wasn’t ideal.
“It’s quite a common occurrence with the scoring results where we have to review all four score cards to come to a determination, it just doesn’t normally happen quite in that setting,” he said.
The draw wasn’t the only one this round, with Cummins Ramblers and Cummins Kapinnie both finishing 50-all in the Great Flinders League on Saturday.
