Head of Infrastructure at SANFL Belinda Marsh says it was a joy to award the first winners over the weekend.

“Everyone was so happy – how could you not be when, you know, we’re lucky enough to distribute this much money out into grassroots football,” Ms Marsh says.

The organisation wants to keep this funding going for a long time to come.

“We reckon we can do a really good job and really try and prove to our partners that we can keep this fund going on an ongoing basis, because it’s certainly something that our clubs are really needing and we’re really wanting to turn the dial on facilities out in clubs.”

There were 42 successful projects across the state, and $6 million is still to be awarded over the next two years.
