Despite early weather concerns, the Port Lincoln and Districts Softball Association went ahead with its grand finals this past Saturday, with Roadrunners and Squaws delivering a full day of competitive action.
In the juniors, Roadies claimed a 15–12 win over Squaws after a closely fought contest that remained even through the early innings. Strong batting from Lexi Bayly and Lani Newman helped Roadies edge ahead late, while Anabell Bowey starred in the field with key catches and a decisive final play. Makyra Sweeney was named best on ground.
The B Grade clash saw Roadies take control in the second innings, scoring six runs to secure a 12–8 victory. Pitcher Carlie Woods was dominant, recording seven strikeouts and three safe hits to earn best on ground honours.
In A Grade, Roadies completed a clean sweep with a 12–3 win, holding Squaws scoreless until the fourth innings. Strong pitching, sharp fielding and consistent batting sealed the result, with Dianne McCouaig named best on ground after an outstanding performance at second base.
