Port Lincoln Council team takes top spot at Rural Management Challenge

There’s some success for the Port Lincoln Council, with its team winning first place at the recent LG Professionals SA Rural Management Challenge.

Held in Adelaide, the biennial event sees local councils tackle real-world scenarios through simulation to test leadership and collaboration.

Port Lincoln’s ‘Tuna Tossers’ were tested in teamwork, problem-solving and strategic thinking against other local governments.

They beat out runners up Robe and Port Augusta for the win.

CEO Eric Brown said the achievement proves the strength, talent and dedication of the team.

“The Rural Management Challenge is designed to stretch participants’ abilities and replicate the complexity of local government work. Our team not only rose to the challenge but excelled, proving the strength, talent and dedication of our people,” he said.
