Six youths have been arrested after allegedly fleeing from a stolen car in Whyalla.
Police spotted the Toyota sedan driving without headlights and straddling lanes on Elliott Street around 4:20am on 28 July.
Officers followed the vehicle as it sped through backstreets before losing a rear tyre and coming to a stop near the Lincoln Highway.
The group then attempted to flee on foot into nearby scrub, but were quickly arrested by patrols.
Four 13-year-old boys from Port Augusta, along with a 13-year-old and 14-year-old boy from Whyalla, were charged with illegal use of a motor vehicle.
They have been bailed to appear in Whyalla Youth Court later this year.
Checks confirmed the car had been stolen from outside a Whyalla home earlier that morning.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact police or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
