Better mobile coverage could soon be on the way for the Eyre Peninsula, with federal government funding set to deliver a new mobile base station to the region.
The proposed base station will be built on the Lower Eyre Peninsula and is expected to improve both 4G and 5G mobile coverage for local communities.
It is one of 17 new mobile base stations to be rolled out across Australia under the latest round of federal funding.
The project forms part of the Federal Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program, which aims to improve connectivity in regional and remote areas with limited or unreliable mobile coverage.
While the Lower Eyre Peninsula has been confirmed as a successful location under the program, the exact site for the new mobile base station is yet to be determined.
