On Friday, the shed, named after Bedford’s biggest benefactor, the late Sam Sarin, was opened by members and volunteers of the organisation, Rotary, Bendigo Bank and local politicians.

The new shed will mean more opportunities to partner with the seafood and fishing industry and create new jobs for people with disability.

The project was more than two years in the making, which started from a $40,000 fundraising donation to $160,000 following a grass roots campaign.

Funds were also spent on a landscaped and bitumised car park.
