Local State Emergency Services were kept busy over the weekend with training exercises.

Members from the Port Lincoln, Ceduna and Streaky Bay units practiced their road crash rescue skills and vertical rescue skills.

The first scenario involved using the ‘jaws of life’ to recover a simulated entrapped person from a crashed car.

The second exercise saw volunteers simulate the rescue of a casualty trapped on a ledge in a quarry.

For those interested in volunteering, Port Lincoln SES are holding a Recruitment Open Day on 4 November.
