The Kimba Council has lost two Councillors, after they resigned from their positions last week.
Councillor James Haskett and Councillor Anthony Scott announced their resignations as Elected Members of the District Council of Kimba at the Ordinary Meeting on Wednesday 11 June.
In a statement made yesterday, Mayor Dean Johnson thanked the Councillors for their service and contributions to the Council.
“They have both been passionate and committed advocates for their community and we wish them all the best for the future,” he said.
Their resignations come following the introduction of behavioural standards in the Councillor role.
A supplementary election will be held as soon as practicable for the positions, with a report to be presented at the Ordinary Meeting on 9 July.
