A major investigation has been launched, following a mass fish kill event on the southern Eyre Peninsula.
According to 7 NEWS, a significant number of tuna died when a tow cage passed through discoloured or dirty water south of Port Lincoln.
The exact cause of the mass fish deaths has not yet been determined, however recent water testing has ruled out Karenia algae as the cause.

SARDI said a strong upwelling season is bringing cold nutrient-rich water to the surface.
The incident is believed to be isolated.
