In Feburary, a petition was submitted to council requesting it retains the Andrew Small Playground, with the City of Port Lincoln advising it was creating a new playspace as part of the foreshore concept plan.

The council said it didn’t propose to keep the existing playground, with much of the existing equipment to be moved to Nelson Square.

In a statement from Mayor Diana Mislov, she said the council welcomes community feedback, but it also takes its work health and safety obligations seriously.

She requests any member of the community who wishes to provide feedback or submit a complaint to council, to do so in a respectful manner.
