SA is set to receive a major boost in disaster resilience – with seven projects funded under Round Three of the Federal Government’s Disaster Ready Fund.
More than $10 million in funding will help communities prepare for increasingly frequent and severe weather events.
The investment includes three projects in Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula.
They include $2.4 million in funding for an Aboriginal-led disaster governance initiative across the region, and a $2.2 million coastal adaptation program that covers nine local councils.
While another $2.2 million will support Red Cross programs in Port Lincoln to help vulnerable communities strengthen their emergency planning.
