The discussion surrounding wards within the Port Lincoln council area is back on the table…
Every eight years the local council must conduct a review into its election representation.
The last review for Lincoln was conducted in 2017, with the council and community consultation opting for the “no wards” structure to remain in place.

Council has again moved a motion for the 2026 elections to comprise nine area councillors and a mayor, and not bring back the wards structure – this proposal will now go out for community feedback.
Port Lincoln hasn’t had council wards since 2003.
