The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board have installed interpretive signage at Eight Mile Creek and Murrippi Beach within the Cowleds Landing Sanctuary Zone to educate visitors about the importance of saltmarshes.

The wetland ecosystems provide a nursery habitat for commercially important species like Spencer Gulf King Prawns and King George Whiting.

The signage also draws attention to the threat of off-road vehicles to the fragile samphire ecosystem.
