A dedicated information centre, helping locals learn more about the planned Eyre Peninsula desalination plant project, will open in Port Lincoln early next month.
The centre in Liverpool Street will be open for visitors each weekday between 10am and 5:30pm from April 3rd, with appointments also available outside those hours.
SA Water’s General Manager of Sustainable Infrastructure, Amanda Lewry, said the opening of the centre is a pre-cursor to a series of information sessions they plan to hold across the region during April and May.
She says they are committed to working with, and listening to the community, and beyond this stage there will be many more opportunities to get involved and provide feedback.
SA Water’s preferred Billy Lights Point desalination plant site has faced opposition from politicians and those in the aquaculture industry, since the State Government accepted the advice of the organisation’s board earlier this month.
